Sekisui House Group Philosophy and Guidelines for Contributing to Society

The Sekisui House Group proactively works to resolve social issues through both business activities and social contribution activities. By collaborating with regional communities, we aim to contribute to their development and the revitalization of their economies. SHR and SHA also aim to realize a sustainable society through initiatives that involve collaboration with local stakeholders such as tenants, local communities in which owned properties are located, industrial groups, and NPOs, as well as environmentally friendly activities.

Contribution to Local Communities

SHR takes initiatives to harmoniously co-exist with local communities by introducing equipment available to anyone, in addition to deepening communication with local residents through participation in events of local communities in which its owned properties are located.
Not only for tenants but residents of neighboring community, in some of our properties, SHR has implemented illumination decorations and introduced electric kickboards, electric assit bycycle and car sharing as a sharing service in addition to opening up kid's room and dining lounge.

In the development area around Prime Maison EGOTANOMORI, the Livinlabo Council has been organized with the aim of preserving the area's pleasant environment and creating a vibrant and open community with the local residents and the surrounding area. Through this, some events are held throughout the year where multiple generations can interact.

At City Ridge, to foster communication among residents, monthly events tailored to the season are held such as Halloween movie screenings, including yoga classes, cooking workshops and concerts.

Participation in the Minato-ku Adopt Program

SHA has agreed with Minato-ku, Tokyo, where the office is located, and regularly conducts cleanup activities in the vicinity of the office through participation in the Minato-ku Adopt Program.

The Adopt Program refers to a series of activities involving the "adoption" of local roads, parks, etc. by deeming them as "foster children", and groups or citizens, etc. consisting of ward residents, etc. as "foster parents". The "foster parents" engage in beautification and cleaning activities of their "foster children". We will contribute to our cooperation with tenants and local communities through cleanup activities.

Activities along with the Government and Industrial Groups

Sekisui House believes that the Sekisui House Group has a large role and responsibility in improving housing and living conditions, and participates in the initiatives of many industry groups. As a full-member of the Investment Management Association of Japan (IMAJ) as well as a regular member of The Association for Real Estate Securitization (ARES), SHA takes action to further develop the industry.

Participation in “Sekisui House Matching Program”

The “Sekisui House Matching Program” is an employee-driven donation program that has been implemented by Sekisui House Group since fiscal year 2006 to support NPOs and other organizations. Under this system, the Group's employees set aside the amount they wish to donate, in units of 100 yen, and Sekisui House adds an equal amount as subsidies to make donations. The “Children's Fund” and the “Environmental Fund” have been established, and employees can freely choose which one to donate to. In fiscal year 2024, 56 projects were launched based on employee ideas and a total of approximately 53.02 million yen was donated with the company and employees.

Other Donations

SHA makes donations through activities, such as collecting plastic bottle caps and used stamps, giving out unused calendars and notebooks for recycling.
Since 2019, through donating plastic bottle caps to a NPO, we have participated in activities to deliver vaccines to children around the world through UNICEF.

Relief Donation

When large-scale natural disasters occur inside or outside Japan, SHA offers relief donations to be used for rescue and restoration activities in the affected areas.

SHA's Initiatives for Environmental Considerations

SHA takes the following initiatives as environmental measures.

Promoting paperless operation by digitizing internal documents
Avoid using plastic bottles in the office, making it a rule for indiviuals to use their own bottles or cups
